GROOVERS is for advanced students that have a few years experience in dance or with The Creative Movement. For new students, an assessment will provide insight to the level they will join.

Classes are held on Wednesdays from 7:15 to 8:30 on The Family Farm.

Please have students wear comfy weather appropriate clothes and sneakers.

The Creative Movement takes the stance of creating safe space for people to explore movement in their bodies. We work as a team and handle matters as they arise, to lead by example. Dance and play are the vehicles with which we speak, but we also know students learn skills that will serve them in their lifetime.

*Important info: The $25 registration fee paid through this site. Monthly tuition for class is $108 per month and is due the first class of each month. A 10% late fee is added to all payments not made within the first week window.

**Any students currently enrolled in our 2025-2026 season do not need to re-register; they are automatically rolled into the remainder of our season.

The one-time registration fee shown here is $25. Kids Break Dancing class is a high‑energy class where kids get to move, groove, and feel amazing Our Beginner Break Dancing class is all about fun, confidence, and big smiles.

New dancers learn the foundations of breaking — from top rock,  floorwork, to power moves and freezes — in a playful, upbeat environment where every child feels like a star. We keep things beginner‑friendly, high‑energy, and full of encouragement so kids can explore new skills without pressure.

Through games, music, and movement, dancers build strength, coordination, and rhythm while discovering how exciting it feels to express themselves. This class is perfect for kids who love to move, love a challenge, or just want to try something totally new and seriously fun.

Your child will leave class feeling proud, energized, and eager to show you their new moves.

Students that are signed up for this class will participate in our 7th annual House Party, taking place at the end of June. A tee shirt will need to be purchased by all performers.

Please have students wear comfortable clothes covering the body and sneakers.

*This $25 fee is for registration only. Tuition for The Company is $135/mo.  IF you are currently signed up for one class with The Creative Movement, tuition for The Company is $65/mo (added to current tuition.) A 10% late fee will be added to all tuition not paid in the first week window. 

Calling all performers!

We are in YEAR THREE of the part of The Creative Movement called "The Company" and it's a performance art company with the mission of putting shows on for children, by children!

Still with the same laid back, work-well and play-well atmosphere, The Company will have some of the same feeling like the Summer 2023 Sessions- creative time with performance goals in mind!

What you should know:

• Ages 10 and up are welcome
• Experience isn't necessary and everyone is teachable
• Kids signed up for this will be asked to make time sacrifices outside of our regular rehearsal schedule to make up for holidays and prepare for performances
• It IS important that kids commit to rehearsals & it's also understandable that you have a life and plans already; we just communicate as much as possible.

Attire is laid back and casual!

$88 is your investment for all 4 weeks of class. Drop-in (only 1 week) is $25 per class. For Drop-ins, Venmo @TheCreativeMovementLLC and write *Week 1* or whichever week you are attending. 

"When I was little, I wanted to be a dancer!"

Do you understand the amount of times I have heard this in my life?! So many. And I am ready to give your little inner children their dream moment!

When I speak about your inner child (or children,) she/they are the ones that love to Play. She loves to be silly, have fun, find joy in the moment and be in the flow. She's curious, asks questions, and doesn't judge or criticize herself or others. Have you seen her lately?! She's in there!

(I am also speaking to and about your inner teen, inner diva, inner freak, and inner Queen. They are allllll invited to the party! But to be clear, I will continue to use "inner child.")

This may be bold, but I am just the person to bring her out to dance and play. This is my specialty. And she is READY, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this description right now.

These 4 sessions are laid back but we will get work done. Each class is 1.25 hours long. with Movement being about an hour of that and then time left over (about a half hour) of integration. 

These sessions will be choreography based, so you know that you will actually learn dance moves in a routine style. This is not a loose/freestyle session, like Body Talk. A lot of women prefer the structure of dance moves taught in routine. *request heard and answered*

Committing this time to yourself is a GIFT you give to you.

Committing to your inner child that she gets to try something, in safe space, is a GIFT you give to you.

Feeling how it feels to come home to your body is a GIFT you give to you.

We are QUICK to put everyone else's wants and needs to the top of the list. It's our turn, ladies, to put ourselves at the top. We deserve it.

You guys, I get told this allllllll the time. And it's amazing! 

But it doesn't have to be  thing of the past! YOU CAN BE A PERFORMER RIGHT NOW! 

Just like my "When I was young, I always wanted to be a dancer" adult beginner dance class, this is another opportunity for adults to let their inner child be seen on the big stage, have fun with the messy creativity of putting a performance together, work side by side with others with the same goal in mind, and dress up in a costume! 

WINS ALL AROUND!

Through this course you will be making up, developing and performing in The Creative Movement's annual production "HOUSE PARTY" this year to be held at the Riverwalk Amphitheather in downtown Salisbury, held Friday, June 26th, from 6 to 9 pm. 

We will work on Tuesdays within the 3 months leading up to our performance. Please put our all-cast rehearsal of Thursday, June 25 at 5:30 on your calendar. You are always invited to talk amongst yourselves and reserve studio time to practice with friends!

Listen- if you have ever been on the fence about coming to one of many offerings through TCM- this is the one to do. 

Some concerns:

"I don't know how to dance." Yes, you do. You really do. You just get in your own way. And luckily, you have a dance teacher to help you with this!

"I've never done this before!" SWEET. Neither have less half of my students performing in this show. We will all learn together. Coolest part is that your energy is a Big part of the project, so YOU are actually IMPORTANT to the process and outcome. As our Roxie the Lollipop Fairy says so sweet and non-chalantly "Nooooooo pressure!" 

And let's be real- there is always pressure. When you are doing something EPIC in your life- there is always pressure! So this fun, easy going opportunity may be just what you need to get that confidence boosted!

"What if I can't make all the rehearsals?" Well, it's alright, I understand that you have a LIFE to live. You are also making a commitment to your growth when you sign up for a TCM program. That comes with team members, who all want you to succeed! Lean on your people, people.
